Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Herbst (1792) classifies quirina Fabricius as a synonym of dice, a view followed by Drury in his 1837 edition and by Doubleday (1848). These errors are due to the fact that all these authors believed that Fabricius had described quirina in his 1793 edition, whereas he had done so as early as 1781. Classified as a synonym of quirina by Aurivillius (1893) and Eltringham (1912).
