Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Homonym of cynthia Herbst 1790. It should be noted that Trimen did not intend to describe a new species, and that authors who classify cynthia as such are mistaken (Aurivillius – 1898). The confusion with the true cynthia was acknowledged by Trimen in 1887 and 1889. Aurivillius (1898) treated cynthia as a synonym of natalensis Staudinger.
