Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Classified by Eltringham (1912, 1916) as a form of terpsichore (now serena Fabricius). Le Doux (1928) classifies this taxon as a form of manjaca Boisduval. Aurivillius (1898) classifies manjaca as a variety of serena Fabricius. connexa should therefore be placed within serena.
