Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Eltringham (1912, 1916) classifies bukoba as a synonym of ventura Hewitson. It should be noted that the confusion between eponina Cramer and ventura Hewitson was also perpetuated by Eltringham, who regarded ventura merely as a form of eponina (now a synonym of serena Fabricius). Pierre & Bernaud (2014) classify this taxon as a synonym of serena.
