Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
From the original description of brunnea, Eltringham noted that astrigera Butler, emini Weymer and pseudolycia Butler are variations of the same species. Having subsequently classified astrigera as a subspecies of pseudolycia, Eltringham (1912–1916) classifies brunnea as a form of astrigera. Eltringham adds (p. 105 in fine, 1912) that brunnea may be classified as a form of both the basic pseudolycia and the subspecies astrigera!
