Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Butler (1896) states that bomba is merely a seasonal form of anacreon Trimen. Aurivillius (1898) retains its status as a species. Strand (1910, 1911) concurs with this view. Eltringham (1912) classifies bomba as a subspecies of anacreon. van Son (1963) classifies bomba as a form. Larsen (1991) classifies bomba as a subspecies. Henning (1992–1993) classifies this taxon as a species.
