Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Grose-Smith states in his Rhopalocera Exotica (1892) that andromba resembles obeira Hewitson. Classified as a species by Aurivillius (1898). Eltringham (1912) classifies this taxon as a synonym of obeira, noting that the specific character in the description of andromba (a greater number of marginal spots) is in fact a highly variable character of the species. This is contested by Oberthür (1916), who classifies andromba as a valid species. Pierre & Bernaud (2014) confirm the synonymy with obeira.
