Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Henning & Henning (1996) argue that the genus anacreon should be restricted to populations in South Africa. This position has yet to be validated by molecular analysis. Pierre rejects this view, arguing that all taxa within the anacreon group are poorly defined in terms of their traits and distribution ranges. However, a more in-depth study currently in progress highlights molecular differences between the various populations.
