Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Originally described as a Lycaenidae by Lathy (Trans. Ent. Soc. Lond. p. 194, vol. 8, f. 2 (1903): Telipna actinotina). This description was reclassified as Acraea by Neave (1915), who erroneously named it actinota. The species is known only from Lathy’s type specimen and three specimens collected by St Leger in the Niger Delta, near Ahoada (these specimens are in the BMNH)
