Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
Aurivillius (1898) classifies acontias as a seasonal variation of atolmis Westwood. Eltringham (1912, 1916) classifies acontias as a synonym of atolmis. Van Son also proposes this synonymization on the basis that acontias is a normal atolmis female, rather than the wet-season form he describes under the name westwoodi. This is not the opinion of Overlaet (1955), who retains the name acontias for the wet-season form. Van Son (1963) finally classifies acontias as a form.
