Observations et histoire de la classification de la description
The species status of this taxon is disputed by Mabille (1886), who classifies calida as an aberration of zitja Boisduval. Aurivillius (1898) agrees, classifying calida as a female aberration of zitja. Eltringham (1912, 1916) classifies calida as a female form of zitja. Le Doux (1931) specifies that the form (which he spells callida) is as much a male form as a female one, and therefore describes the male. Henning (1992–1993) classifies this taxon as a species. Caracasson & Ackery (1995) nevertheless retain the rank of form for calida. Species status confirmed by Pierre (1994) and Pierre & Bernaud (2002).
